Alderley District Scout Band - Marching to Success !
Yes, you can learn to play an instrument at School and perhaps play in the school orchestra but we offer more ! Our Band frequently wins National Awards and they get to play in alsorts of interesting places. We offer the opportunity for young people with musical aptitude irrespective of their musical training to join one of the countries leading marching bands.
Being in the Band requires commitment - two rehearsals a week plus your normal Scouting activities. but, it's fun ! Yes its lots of work to get the routines perfect and to master the tunes but when it all comes together, it's a fantastic feeling ! And best still you get channce to show off !
The Band is a traditional marching band - drums, glockenspiels and bugles of various sizes and tones. We don't have cheerleaders, flags or "chocolate box soldier" uniforms.
