Alderley Scouts start their Centenary celebrations

On Sunday 18th September 2011, we started our Centenary celebrations with a Sunrise Camp at Terra Nova School. Three hundred Cubs, Scouts, Explorers and Leaders camped overnight and were woken early (5.45am !) on the Sunday Morning by a rousing bugle call !

Sunrise / Sunset Blanket Badge
To recognise the event we produced a two part blanket badge (see above). Everyone who attended received the Sunrise half of the celebration badge - if you want the Sunset half, you need to attend the Sunset Ceremony next September !
Thanks to everyone who helped to organise and run the event especially to Linda and Goostrey team who produced 300 hundred bacon rolls in an hour, not to mention the rest of the food ! Wendy and the Holmes Chapel Team who organised the logistics, programme etc. Will who did all the signs, layout, PA etc. Jo who designed the badge. Simon and the Band – we will let you play in the daylight, next time ! Judy and Terra Nova School for kindly hosting us and all the leaders. I think everyone enjoyed it because there is already talk of what we are going to for the Sunset !
