Don't just sit there - Join Explorers !
You can join Explorers when you are fourteen years of age and you move up to Network when you are Eighteen. Explorers is fun because you get to do alsorts of adventurous (and sometimes silly !) activities with a group of people who are of a similar age and attitude to you. Yes there are leaders but generally they are pretty laid back and they are there to help you do whatever you dream up - their major concern is to ensure that you have fun, safely !
Explorers, explore ! The highlight of the Units year is the Expedition. We don't just have a week away, we do stuff. It might be a week of adventurous activities or walking a long distance footpath but the emphasis is on getting out there and having fun !
There is a serious side to Explorers, we work towards both Duke of Edinburgh and Scout Awards. There is an opportunity to work as a young leader with one of our younger sections. Our Explorers go on to work or University and they put the life skills they have learnt in Scouts to good effect.
